| Description: The Carillon is represented in the music with a constant three note motive. The original full orchestra version works well for string orchestra. The brilliant Allegro theme features the violins. The Andantino section which in the original is presented as a flute duet is handed to the violas, cellos and basses. Key and texture changes lead to a shorter statement of the Allegro which drives to a grand finish. Carillon is a wonderful example of Bizet's writing. |
