| Description: Mock Morris began life dished-up for six single strings or string orchestra, and was later used in the closing credits for the film Howard’s End. When Leopold Stokowski approached Grainger for a project devoted to rescoring most of his popular compositions and Mock Morris was an obvious choice. Percy adapted most of his rescoring’s parts from the 1914 published orchestral version, placing his alterations and corrections directly into them, including changing the clarinet and trumpet parts to be pitched for Bb instead of A as well as for slower tempos. Play your choice of Grainger’s original ending or the Stokowski version. |
