| Description: A charming Grade 2 composition for full or string orchestra. The composer paints a picture of gracious living when life was unhurried. An Allegro moderato introduction is followed by the opening theme, presented by strings with optional piano. The full orchestra enters to finish the first section. The strings play a light-hearted section, conjuring visions of lawn croquet, tea, and crumpets. The full orchestra enters robustly to contrast with the elegant strings. A 3/4 Moderato takes us inside to the ballroom for a graceful waltz. Last, the D. S. al Coda leads to a noble, rallentando ending. |
